Cettis Warbler

I am particularly pleased with this picture of a Setis Warbler, having heard its song but never seen the bird on several occasions, this particular morning I turned round when I heard the song and there it was not ten feet away and beautifully framed.

Swan & Cygnets

This beautiful picture of a majestic swan with her cygnets in tow behind her is delightful and one which I just had to photograph.

Robin on a Branch

Don’t you just love Robbins they are probably one of the friendliest birds in our countryside. This Robbin had followed me down the path for quite some time so it was only right that I took its picture.

Barn Owl in Flight

I was driving home late one evening and spotted a Barn Owl hunting in the field, so the following evening I went to sit close to the field edge, I did not have to wait long before the owl appeared and I managed to get this shot. The owl turned to look at me when it heard the shutter go off as I had forgotten to go onto silent shutter, sill me but it makes for a great image.

Squirrel Reflection

Who doesn’t love Red Squirrels, watching this squirrel entering the water and the near-perfect reflection was irresistible.

Gannet Portrait

This image of a Gannet was taken on a trip to the RSPB reserve at Bempton Cliffs in Yorkshire. The cliffs are famous for the Gannet colony and the number of other bird species there. I was fortunate to capture this Gannet as it looked up into the sky possibly looking for its mate.

Orchid in Bloom

The beauty of this single orchid with a green background, whilst a simple composition shows off how beautiful orchids can be.

Cock Red Grouse (lagopus lagopus)

Living close to the moors I am lucky to see Red Grouse regularly and have many opportunities to photograph them.

This cock grouse was close to the road, so I just had to stop and take this image.
