Lone Tree Rydal Water
This lone tree on Rydal Water offers several compositions, the tree sits on an outcrop of limestone, and the stories this tree could tell only enhance its mystical quality.

Majestic Oak Rydal Water
There are several beautiful oak trees around Rydal Water this one in particular caught my eye with the background of autumnal colours and low-lying clouds.

Charlies Tree
I am not sure what the name of this tree is, but I have come to know it as Charlie’s tree or the bendy ash. The ash tree is set in an outcrop of limestone pavement in the Yorkshire Dales and is full of character. This picture was captured early one morning with the sun catching the distant hills, looking through the bend in the tree, you can see the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct.

Autumn Gold
The autumnal colours in the foreground and trees at Scalber Force were stunning in the morning light.

Golden Reflections
This image was taken from the cave at Hodge Close quarry, the autumnal silver birch leaves and reflection they make in the still water are stunning, the metal you can see is from the original quarry workings.

A woodland Walk
This image is from the walk up to Holme Fell from Hodge Close quarry the autumnal colours of the golden birch leaves and the green and brown of the bracken are what make this image one of my favourites.

The Old Guard
Walking through Gisburn Forest I couldn’t resist taking an image of this old oak tree, the moss-covered branches and trunk set the tree off, it was a pity there wasn’t more mist to give the image a more mystical look.
