I have always been interested in wildlife, landscape, and nature from an early age, spending much of my childhood in the countryside.

I am fortunate to live in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales and close to the edge of the Lake District, allowing me to experience the natural beauty and spectacular landscapes. As a landscape and wildlife photographer, I find beauty in the smallest details.

I have always been interested in photography and loved to take pictures whenever I could. However, like most people, this was usually carried out with a simple point-and-shoot camera and a 35mm film camera.

Moving up to a digital camera has certainly opened my eyes to the opportunities and challenges we can experience photographing the landscape and nature around us.

The sense of adventure and exploring new locations to photograph is an essential part of my creative process and one which both excites and challenges me.

As a self-taught photographer, I have quickly realised I could spend several lifetimes and never be able to fully capture and photograph the beautiful area we live in or the wildlife that inhabits it.

Photography is not only about capturing the light it’s about capturing the essence of the image I am taking which gives me so much pleasure not just taking pictures but researching and exploring new locations to photograph the natural beauty around us.

Having a passion for photography and the outdoors certainly helps, I hope through my photography to capture the natural beauty of nature and the character of the landscape including the wildlife which inhabits it, creating images that faithfully represent what I see.

To me, photography as an art form is an expression of the photographer, each image should tell a unique and interesting story, allowing me to express how I see the world around us which is captured in the image.

This might not always be to everyone’s taste, so let’s embark on this journey together and celebrate the art of landscape and nature photography, creating images for you to enjoy.

Here we go.
